Polypro Hoop Tubing
Polypro hoops are great for on and off body hooping, bouncier with a faster response rate. Extreme heat or cold can cause damage. Too hot and the tubing can warp. Too cold and it can crack. This tubing is also great for tech and performance as they are meant to have speed. Polypro comes in 5/8" OD, 11/16" OD, and 3/4" OD (Outer Diameter)
HDPE hoop TUBING
HDPE(High Density PE) hoops are great for colder climates, durable, and crack resistant. This hoop, hence the name, is denser with a high impact rate. Its flexibility makes it easier for off body hooping. This tubing comes in 5/8" OD, 3/4"OD (Outer Diameter)
PE Hoop Tubing
PE tubing is great for beginners and exercise. The tubing is stiffer, and much more durable. PE tubing can withstand most climates and is great for on body; especially waist, chest, and shoulder hooping. It is measured differently than the other two types which is ID(inner diameter) and comes in 1/2"ID = 3/4"OD and 3/4"ID = 1"OD.

Beginner Hoopers
The hula hoop, when resting vertically on the ground, should reach somewhere between your waist and belly button. This is your base diameter measurement and can be adjusted slightly depending on your size and experience level. Having a hoop diameter between 40"- 44" is ideal for beginners, adjusting 2"-5" depending on your height and build, personal preference. The most common sizes range from 36"- 44" varies on hoop tubing.
